On June 6th, Dort Evan Centre roared with excitement, brought all the graduates of Flint community to their feet by receiving a surprising message from Eminem, one of the biggest rap star from Michigan

“What’s Up Class of 2017? This is Eminem I just want to say congratulations to the graduating seniors of Flint Northwestern and Flint Accelerated Learning Academy. Congrats to all your guys’ hard work, man. You earned this moment.” a recorded message blared from the speakers at Dort Evans Centre with his pictures plastered to the screens.

But wait, that’s not the end of it. Who would have known that after the acknowledgment, not only the graduates will be receiving their diplomas, Eminem let them walk off with each a new set of Beats by Dr.Dre headphones? Which was distributed by his philanthropy foundation, Marshall Mathers Foundation.

Reported by MLive that the whole idea came from Eminem, himself. He reached out to the school through his foundation.

This isn’t the first giveaway that Eminem and his foundation did.Marshall Mathers Foundation collaborated with Kids In Need Foundation to give more than 240 backpacks filled with school supplies to Flint Elementary School.

Although Eminem has remained relatively quiet on the hip-hop scene, this doesn’t make the first time that he showed the philanthropy side of Slim Shady.

More to that, to help raise $2 million for the victims of the Manchester Arena attack which left many casualties and critically injured victims  Eminem has also teamed up with British Red Cross along with Justin Timberlake

Eminem founded the Marshall Mathers Foundation, a charity that he uses his birth name to provide assistance to disadvantaged and at-risk youth, primarily in Detroit and surrounding communities in 2002.

Eminem keeps his philanthropy work private, it’s not about giving a plus mark on his name but instead of it, he plainly just wants to help.
