In June, Jacob & Co. introduced a new watch that complements the Bugatti Tourbillon hypercar, marking the latest creation in their ongoing collaboration with Bugatti. The design of this watch is inspired by the car, which was itself influenced by a tourbillon watch, creating a full-circle moment where automotive design and luxury watchmaking intersect.

The Jacob & Co. Bugatti Tourbillon watch will be limited to 250 units. Of these, 150 will follow the original model design, while the remaining 100 will incorporate high-end jewelry elements, pushing the boundaries of luxury watchmaking. Jay-Z, the famous music mogul, is the first person to own this exclusive Bugatti Tourbillon watch. This news was confirmed by Jacob Arabo, the founder and CEO of Jacob & Co., who is also a long-time friend of Jay-Z.

“My dear friend [Jay-Z] was the first to own the 5 time zone watch,” Arabo posted on his social media. “25 years later, he’s the first to own the bugatti tourbillion.”

Jay-Z’s watch collection is unmatched among celebrities, with pieces like a $6.5 million Tiffany Blue Patek Philippe Nautilus and a $2.5 million Richard Mille Blueprint. These are just a few highlights in what could be considered the ultimate watch collection.

Jacob & Co. spent 18 months creating the Bugatti Tourbillon watch to look like a Bugatti car, complete with a car-shaped case and a sapphire-carved automaton that resembles a scaled-down Bugatti V16 engine. The functional automaton contains titanium pistons that move like an actual engine, as well as a dashboard-style dial with a 30-second flying tourbillon and double power reserve. These factors combine to make the Bugatti Tourbillon one of Jacob & Co.’s most sophisticated and inventive clocks.

Stay tuned.
