Rapper Logic feels that while his recent project Ultra 85 came straight from his heart, it didn’t bring in much financial success. In a chat with the media, he shared that his new goal is to create more upbeat, energetic music similar to that of Playboi Carti. Logic noted that his deep-focus Hip Hop tracks “don’t pay the bills,” adding that he’s planning to pivot back to “turn-up” music that resonates commercially.

Ultra 85 originally served as the working title for his retirement album in 2020, which was later released as No Pressure. The album’s outro hinted at Ultra 85, with a robotic voice announcing it as a program continuation. Now, however, Logic is ready to bring a new energy to his music.

Meanwhile, Playboi Carti, Logic’s new inspiration, has a guest feature on Tyler, The Creator’s album Chromakopia. Notably, Carti’s feature only appears on the vinyl version, surprising many fans when the album hit streaming services without it on October 28.

Reflecting on his journey, Logic explained that his earlier success came from making popular, high-energy tracks. With that foundation, he now feels ready to go back to creating crowd-pleasing, high-energy music: “I’m about to drop all this Playboi Carti trap, turn-up shit, go get a bag, and have fun.”

Stay tuned.
