Kendrick Lamar Dominates 2024 BET Hip Hop Awards with 8 Wins

Kendrick Lamar may not have been at the 2024 BET Hip Hop Awards on Oct. 15, but that didn’t stop him from stealing the spotlight. The event had Kendrick sweeping the night with eight major wins across various categories.

He claimed the title of Hip Hop Artist of the Year, beating top contenders like Drake, Cardi B, 21 Savage, Future, GloRilla, Megan Thee Stallion, and Nicki Minaj. Kendrick also snagged the Lyricist of the Year award, proving his lyrical dominance over artists like Lil Wayne, Common, and others.

Though Megan Thee Stallion led the nominations with 12, she couldn’t top Kendrick’s reign. His hit track “Not Like Us,” born from his ongoing feud with Drake, took home multiple awards including Song of the Year, Best Hip Hop Video, and Impact Track.

Kendrick’s feature on Future and Metro Boomin’s track “Like That,” also tied to his beef with Drake, earned him more wins for Best Collaboration and Sweet 16: Best Featured Verse.

Adding to his list of achievements, Kendrick and Dave Free secured the Video Director of the Year award, solidifying Kendrick’s role not just as a rapper but as a visionary in the hip-hop world.

With his epic wins and a victory over Drake in one of the most talked-about rap battles, Kendrick Lamar has undoubtedly become hip-hop’s MVP of the year.

Stay tuned.
